9/25/2023 0 Comments Second life decoratingYou’ve probably seen it before, because it seems to be pretty popular among Second Life people. The build itself is the Bozeman Barn from Barnesworth Anubis. Just like with creating an outfit, it is important to have a solid “library” of things to build from. The idea of the House Dressing blog is that I want to show how you can create your own style through being eclectic and without necessarily spending a lot of money in world. There will be two really important “streams” to this blog, but they both converge. This is my first post here, so try to go easy on me. Land Impacts: MishMish – Path to spring (mix) , Heart – Silver Birch – Copse x 4, MishMish – Spring Grass Yellow Flowers (big), Studio Skye – Enchanted Woods v2 – 2 (path), Studio Skye – Enchanted Woods v2 – 3 (trees). Oh, I almost forgot…that pathway is from MishMish and that little bit of grass is also from them. Like I said in my first post, the important thing to do is to build up a nice “closet” of pieces from quality shops you like, and use them as your building blocks. Both are great resources for buying “wooded” bits and pieces for your landscaping. The bulk of it is made up of Enchanted Woods by Studio Skye, but that birch in the foreground is from Heart. This is a “woods” that I have been building on our parcel. I am trying to be better about landscaping. Let’s hope that, at least.Īs a teaser, this is a work in progress on our parcel. I’m going to try to be more active, with smaller posts with more photography. My Second Life (and my first one two) just got super busy around the end of last year, so I didn’t have time to focus on this like I wanted to. Leave a comment The Trompe Loeil Fisher Point Cottageĭon’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about this blog. Land Impacts: Heart – Silver Birch – Bush1 , grass field lush Posted on JJby nekostacia Posted in Decorations, Landscaping, Nature, Outdoors Tagged Heart. He really sets a high bar on his Woody Creek sim with some really pretty landscaping. The background trees are actually sim decoration by my landlord. An excellent part of anyone’s outdoors landscaping wardrobe. The grass fills a lot of space and only has a land impact of one. The grass is from, a perennial Second Life favorite. The detailing on the trees are good, and I like the “realism” that the bring to a sim. Maybe it is because I am a Midwestern girl. I tend to use birch trees as the basis for my landscaping, I’m not sure why. The tree is from Heart, one of their Silver Birch bushes. Fameshed is a good event for landscaping needs. Like with a lot of the things that I will talk about here, on the blog, I often buy trees at shopping events. Who doesn’t, really? In Second Life, they can make an important building block for your landscaping needs. I will try really hard to update this more often. I really love the things that they do there. If you haven’t seen the Emily house from Scarlet Creative, it is a gorgeous piece of work. I like to buy these things for when I have a project like this, because it give the room a more comfy and lived in feel. When you’re at events, or stores, little random items can really add life to a room, and give it character. The wall tapestry is something that I have had for a while, and I don’t remember where I got it, but it is one of those “base items” that I think are good to collect. The loose hand weights, and the yoga ball are from Kalopsia, from the Kali’s Yoga Accessories pack. If you want to build a Second Life yoga studio, or just a relaxing space like this, I really recommend grabbing this whole pack. They were all part of their Yoga Studio Set fatpack. The candles and incense burner are also from unKindness, as are the “Spiritual Gangster” and “Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe” signs. The gym locker sideboard is from Second Spaces (one of my favorite places on the grid to get knick knacks and decorative items). The wall pallet and shelves are from Kalopsia, called Kali’s Shelf. The yoga mats are from unKindness and are color/pattern change. Many of the objects for the room are ones that I purchased at Collabor88 a few months ago, when they had a gym/workout theme. I’ll probably use it for photography in the long run. I decided, for now, to turn one of those rooms in a yoga room. We have a couple of “dead rooms” in the house, because they don’t really serve a practical purpose. Second Life house decorating has a completely different set of adventures to it than real life house decorating, only because everything is aesthetic rather than practical. The new house was rezed and we set about decorating. Zoey and I picked out the new Scarlet Creative house from Collabor88 called The Emily.
